During the first months of 2023, transport prices in Europe continue to fall for two consecutive quarters for the first time since 2020. According to one of the latest analyses by Iru, Transport Intelligence, and Upply, spot service rates have fallen by 7.5%, but they are still 8.9% higher than last year’s prices, while services subject to long-term contracts have decreased by 2.8% in the quarter but increased by 10.7% in the year.

This drop in European market prices is due to the weakness of demand, which has reduced pressure on supply. Prices for the first quarter in European transport are:

  • Spain – UK

Continued service: €3,193 one-way and €1,475 return

Spot service: €3,527 one-way and €2,100 return

  • Spain – France

Continued service: €1,522 one-way and €1,321 return

Spot service: €1,738 one-way and €1,494 return

  • Spain – Germany

Continued service: €1,663 one-way and €2,049 return

Spot service: €1,911 one-way and €2,172 return.
